✈️ Visiting CEU in March 2026
Super happy to finally share this: I’m going to Vienna!
This year I’ll spend a visiting period at Central European University (CEU) in Vienna, working with the Department of Network and Data Science. I’ll be collaborating with Elisa Omodei and her group on exploring public perceptions of immigration in online discussions.
The project
In recent years, Sweden has been shifting further to the right, with a tougher, openly anti-immigration stance. Swedish public debate has increasingly framed migrant men as a threat to Swedish women and to the country’s hard‑won gender equality, with some politicians invoking feminism to argue for stricter immigration controls.

Why is the international far-right movement obsessed with Sweden? (December 2025)
Politicians are instrumentalizing feminist language to depict immigrants as dangerous. Read more here.
This project looks at how this femonationalist rhetoric takes shape online, analyzing the popular Swedish far-right “Flashback” forum. Recent research has unpacked femonationalism in political propaganda, but we know much less about how this actually looks “from below” in everyday online discussions. Systematic evidence that clearly captures Swedish femonationalist patterns in social media is still missing.

A new adventure at CEU
While in Vienna, I plan to share small updates and some notes from life between Uppsala and CEU. Stay tuned!
